Fall Colors
Muted Fall Leaves Not all leaves are brightly colored in fall. Some are muted tans and browns. Let’s celebrate them as well.
Hawk
… a bird in the bush … … well, actually in the birdbath …
Dogwood
It’s Spring! It’s Spring! Our dogwood seems to be shouting the news. What more can you ask, glorious sunshine, clear blue sky, celebrating surely is in order.
Trees in Winter
Nuthatch – 5
From the reject pile. Focus was not right on. Used three sharpening tools and severe crop to try and get something worth showing. Almost succeeded.

Color at the Festival
Sights from the 2023 Peachtree Corners Festival Festivals are always fun with lots of color and interesting things to see. This year I picked out just a few of the most colorful views.
Pumpkin Blossom in Rain
Squirrel
Nuthatch – 2
Brown-headed nuthatch. In my last post I got the identification wrong (since corrected). To atone, here are two better views of that little critter.
Nuthatch
Brown-headed nuthatch with peeled sunflower seed. EXIF says distance was 2.24 meters, and depth of field 16 mm. Aperture at f/5.6, shutter speed 1/200 sec, ISO 2200, lens zoom at 300 mm. Nikon D800 with AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED. They say to always focus on the eyes – I tried.
Morning Glory
Yes, yes, I know this is not what is called a Morning Glory, but this is a morning glory – a pumpkin blossom. These flowers last just a few hours in the morning. By the time the noontime sun reaches them they will have closed up.
